High Legh News

Two World Sailing Champions

alt  Niki Birrell High Legh’s Olympic Bronze Medallist continued his sailing success with an emphatic fifth consecutive world championship in Kinsale, Ireland and as a result retains his World Number One status. Niki is currently working on his campaign for the Rio Olympics in 2016 and has recently been competing in Miami where he finally succeeded in winning gold in the annual Miami OCR.  Christian, Niki’s younger brother,  sailed with Niki for many years prior to Niki’s Olympic campaign.  He now sails in in the Fireball class, which is a very competitive class of sailing established for over 50 years. Christian has just returned from Thailand where along with his Teammate, Sam he won the Fireball World Championship.
