Please do come to High Legh Village Hall this Saturday 2pm to 4pm and find out more about how High Legh manages to have so many different activities going on. You too can volunteer to participate in any of the host of activities, some small some large, that collectively add up to make High Legh a great place to live in.
Our Village Hall, Sunday Teas, 10K Race, Newsletter ...and more besides are all run by the High Legh Community Association Charity. Every Charity has to have an Hon Treasurer - by law. We need to have someone to take on the Treasurer role by Easter 2020 ....or !!!!!
In the past the Community Association has run all sorts of events like the Village Show and the very successful Big Weekend. We do need more people who would enjoy making these or other events happen - not in competition to fund raisers like the PTA, but in collaboration with many village people and organisations. It is a great way to build friendships with neighbours and enjoy doing something lots of people will enjoy.
You have seen the poster - come and have a chat - with cake, of course.
Come along to St Johns Church Room (WA16 6ND) from 7:15pm, Thursday 9th January.
Pete Williamson FRAS will be stirring it up with "Whirlpools in the Sky". The talk is about William Parsons, Third Earl of Rosse and discoveries made with the Birr Leviathan Telescope, the world's largest telescope of the time.
To avoid delays please be prompt - the talk will start at 7:30pm. Adults: £4 donation and free for accompanied under-18s.
The deadline for contributions to our first High Legh Newsletter of 2020 has been moved back to Tuesday 6th January. This will be our 150th edition - so contributors, please make a good one.
The Autumn Newsletter has been delivered to High Legh homes and a few copies are in the village hall. To download a copy please click here.
