Social Events

High Legh Community Association

The Community Association host a number of village events and cohost others. In recent years, we have enjoyed cheese and wine tasting evenings, chocolate sampling evenings, a curry night, dog shows, history talks and bingo nights. Added to that, we have joined up with the Parish Council and St John’s Church to host an outdoor event which celebrated the late Queen’s Jubilee and the following year a similar event celebrated the coronation of King Charles 111. On both occasions, we lit the village beacon which stands proudly in the car park near the church.

In June 2024 we commemorated the 80th anniversary of D-Day, another successful event which included a fish and chip supper, music, a bar, bell ringing and children’s craft activities. In May 2025 a similar event commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

We hosted pop up pizza nights on the 19th July and the 21st September.

Any profits from social events go towards hall projects or back in to the community in other ways.

Up and Coming Events

Our social team are always coming up with new ideas and so far for 2025 we have a family social planned for 18th July, which includes the pizza van on site, and on the 14th November there will be a cheese and wine tasting evening at the village hall.

Of course we could do a lot more if we had more volunteers to help. Nic and Lou, our social team, both have demanding full time jobs and give what time they can to the Community Association. If you would like to see the Village Hall used for more social events, and you can offer some help, then please call Kath Jones on 07887 642986.

For further information on all our social events please visit the newsletter, published elsewhere on the website and hand delivered to all residents of High Legh, and look out for posters on our online noticeboard and on the community noticeboards which are conveniently located around the village.

To stay in touch and be the first to know about other events, please register your email address here( this facility is not available yet. it will be added in due course)

If you would like to feel more a part of the village on a day-to-day basis, why not join our village WhatsApp group? Send a message to Nic (see the contacts page) and she will add you to the group.
