Sunday Teas

High Legh Community Association

Our Story

Coming up to 50 years ago, a young lady who had only just moved in to the village of High Legh had an idea. She set up a stall at the Village Hall on a Sunday afternoon and sold tea and home made cake to passers by. Her takings were just over £12.00 !!! That lady, Joyce Brow, still lives in the village and she is still making cakes for what is now a regular summer Sunday event.

Sunday Teas now take place at the Village Hall throughout the summer months, a different organisation running the event each week, with profits going to a number of worthy charities. If you are a local organisation involved with a charity and would like to host a Sunday Teas event then there is plenty of time to think about next year. Sorry, but 2024 is full!!!

The whole thing is fantastically organised and managed by Trish Adams from the Community Association. Please get in touch with her if you would like to be involved, either by hosting or helping. Trish can be contacted on 07593 342615. However, Trish is due to retire at the end of this year and we really don’t know how we are going to get this off the ground for 2025 without her. If you have good management skills, a bit of time to spare, and the patience to coordinate the rota, then we really would like to hear from you NOW.

We look forward to you joining us for sandwiches, quiche, cakes and trifles plus a choice of hot and cold drinks.
