Sunday Teas

High Legh Community Association

Our Story

Coming up to 50 years ago, a young lady who had only just moved in to the village of High Legh had an idea. She set up a stall at the Village Hall on a Sunday afternoon and sold tea and home made cake to passers by. Her takings were just over £12.00 !!! That lady, Joyce Brow, still lives in the village and she is still making cakes for what is now a regular summer Sunday event.

Sunday Teas now take place at the Village Hall throughout the summer months, a different organisation running the event each week, with profits going to a number of worthy charities. If you are a local organisation involved with a charity and would like to host a Sunday Teas event during the summer of 2025, then now is the time to register your interest. Based on recent success, your charity will be guaranteed a good return.

For many years this event has been organised by Trish Adams, chair of the Community Association Council. Trish has now retired and Nic Keeley and Louise Allan have taken over the event. If you have a bit of time to spare to help them please let us know. Check out the contacts page for emails addresses and phone numbers.
